WA Stabilising own and operate two 8-wheeler MAN Streumaster dry powder spreader trucks. These spreaders are equipped with all the rigorous industry safety requirements and high end technical specifications, such as the dustless filtering system, rear mounted cameras, ROPS and the precision weightronic spread rate control system. This allows WA Stabilising to provide the full stabilisation service and accurately dispense stabilising agents such as lime, cement and other powdered products. WA Stabilising has engineered the latest spreader to be capable of application rates as low as 0.6% at safe spreading speeds with the aim at driving lower stabilising agents.
WA Stabilising own and operate several Wirtgen Stabilisers and have undertaken a variety of projects including the following main categories of stabilisation:
- Granular Stabilisation involving the mixing of two or more materials, such as for example, a plastic clay with a cohesion less sand, to modify the physical properties of the lower quality material and therefore create a stable subgrade foundation to construct the subsequent pavement layers.
- Moisture Optimisation involving very accurate injection of water to the gravel materials to achieve the optimum compaction moisture content. Using the modern stabilising equipment can increase both the quality of the end product and the production with increases of more than tenfold being achieved when compared to using conventional road construction equipment such as grader mixing.
- Conventional Stabilising involving the spreading of dry powder stabilising agents, such as cement, lime or other stabilising agents and then mixing these with the stabilising equipment while at the same time achieving the optimum compaction moisture content by injecting very accurate amounts of water through the microprocessor controlled water injection system.
- Bituminous Stabilisation involving the same process as with the conventional stabilisation in addition to very accurately injecting either Bitumen Emulsion or Foamed Bitumen with the stabilising equipment. Due to owning and operating two Foamed Bitumen capable stabilisers WA Stabilising has the capability of carrying out more than one Bituminous Stabilising project and/or has the required backup for critical projects such as major arterial roads, highways and Airports
WA Stabilising also provide the service of pavement layer compaction, trimming and final finishing on certain projects where this additional service does not interfere with the head contractor’s and/or our client’s capabilities.
